Regional Systems Sales Engineer

Job Description

The Regional SE position is the focal point of technical responsibility within the Sales organization for all pre-sales customer and partner engagements. Regional SEs are the technical interface between the Sales organization and all other company departments, and together with the Regional Sales Directors are responsible for meeting Asempra’s Revenue and Customer Satisfaction Goals.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for opportunity qualification, product demonstrations, technical presentations, on-site product installation, training, and, coordination with support and post-sales resources. Heavy regional travel is required – up to 70% on-site work with customers and partners.
  • Demonstrated ability and proven track record of working with and directing technical sales teams.
  • Skillful ability to influence, evangelize and educate prospective customers and partners via demonstrations, technical resources or other methods to more effectively sell technical solutions.
  • Possesses deep understanding and performance of the role of systems engineer to include strong analytical capabilities; creative problem solving; and works seamlessly and productively in a dynamic team environment.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Computer Science Degree from accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 7-years relevant work experience; Startup experience preferred.
  • Ideal background would include technical expertise and certification within Windows and Linux Environments; coupled with SQL, DR and Recovery Management, Storage Management; and the data protection market (backup, replication, CDP, volume management). Start up and mid-market experience also beneficial.
  • Strong leadership, technical aptitude, and business skills. Team player and team builder. Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral & written) skills working with end users, resellers, sales, systems engineering, marketing, engineering, and finance. Strong presentation skills that include clear communication of relevant technical and business content. Ability to diffuse complicated technical and political situations with customers and partners.
  • Travel as required.
